Two and a Half Men maestro Chuck Lorre has reached a settlement in his divorce proceedings with his former wife Arielle Lorre (formerly Mandelson), concluding the terms of their split.
In exclusive documents obtained by PEOPLE, it's revealed that the renowned television writer will disburse a sum of $5 million to the wellness influencer as part of their divorce agreement. A court order mandates an initial payment of $1 million upon the execution of the decree, with the remaining $4 million to be remitted within 30 days after Arielle relocates from Chuck's properties.
Outlined in the documents, all monetary disbursements will be exempt from taxation, and Chuck Lorre, aged 71, will terminate any future spousal support payments to Arielle, aged 38, in light of the substantial payment, which effectively serves as a "buyout" of her spousal support entitlements as predetermined in their prenuptial arrangement.
While all personal belongings, including clothing, jewelry, and properties, will remain under the custody of their respective owners, Chuck has been granted sole ownership of the couple's former pet dog, Harvey, albeit with Arielle being accorded "generous visitation" rights.
Additionally, the settlement incorporates a non-disparagement clause, prohibiting both parties from making derogatory remarks about each other, whether orally or in written form, in any public or private forum, including but not limited to talk shows, books, and social media platforms.
The former couple initially filed for divorce in July 2022, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly three years of marriage, with TMZ being the first to report the development. In a joint statement released to PEOPLE at the time, they expressed mutual respect and consideration for each other, emphasizing their intention to move forward amicably despite parting ways romantically.
The couple tied the knot in October 2018 following a two-year courtship but did not have any children together. Before his marriage to Arielle, Chuck Lorre was previously wed to business partner Paula Smith from 1979 to 1992, with whom he shares daughters Nicole and Asa. He also had a marriage with Playboy Playmate Karen Witter from 2001 to 2010.
